About Karen

"Karen is hard working and innovative-one of the bright stars in the world of publicity."-Margaret Feinberg, author of Hungry for God: Hearing God's Voice in the Ordinary and the Everyday

Karen Campbell loves books.

As a young girl, she was a voracious reader and was fascinated with the book publishing process. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from Calvin College, with a focus on Rhetoric and Communications, she began her career in the publishing industry at Baker Publishing Group. From there, she moved on to Zondervan and served as their Director of Public Relations before moving on to start Karen Campbell Media, Inc.

Throughout her 14 years in the publishing industry, she has had the privilege to work on 14 New York Times bestsellers and with several top-selling authors such as Philip Yancey, Lee Strobel, John Ortberg, Rob Bell, Shane Claiborne, Karen Kingsbury, Lysa TerKeurst, Chuck and Emily Colson, Ed Dobson, and dozens of others.

In 2009, Karen was awarded the WMPRSA Gold PRoof Award for her work on the publicity campaign for Multiple Blessings by Jon and Kate Gosselin with Beth Carson.

Karen considers building and maintaining relationships with media outlets essential. Media hits include The Today Show, Good Morning America, FOX Huckabee, Fox & Friends, CNN American Morning, CNN Larry King, CNN Joy Behar Show, CNN Faces of Faith, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, New York Times, USA Today, People Magazine, Good Housekeeping, Christianity Today, The 700 Club, Books & Culture, Life Today with James Robison, Huffington Post Religion, CNN’s Belief Blog, etc.

She would say there’s nothing better than seeing a book receive great media coverage, succeed in sales and change people’s lives.

Dutch, The Co-worker

Dutch the Great Dane reading a bookDutch, the Great Dane and official mascot of Karen Campbell Media, Inc., joined Karen’s family in 2009 where he enjoys a leisurely life of relaxing, stealing food off the counters and reading. He takes his role as “The Co-worker” very seriously. His many antics—eating all of the Easter Eggs, stealing an apple pie off the counter and chewing on Karen’s favorite shoes—are documented on a regular basis.
